SINGAPORE ARMY
“Army Ops Diary”

As Singapore’s number one organisation, the Singapore Army wanted to produce a branding campaign that could reach out and connect to both the general public, as well as potential new recruits. The challenge was to make it appealing for both these target audiences, whilst offering something new and refreshing in terms of messaging.

A key insight that led us to develop this campaign was found in a simple truth. Our Army has achieved so much over the years. It has evolved with the times, continuously upgrading and expanding its practices and capabilities. As a responsible member of the international community, it has participated in disaster relief ops, rebuilding and peacekeeping missions. And as a modern defence force, continues to play a vital role in protecting our home.

This thought presented us with a unique, yet challenging opportunity to break away from expectations. Our solution was to tell a compelling story through real-life testimonials that could connect with, and hopefully, touch the hearts of our audience. Using great cinematography, and perhaps more importantly, a strong and emotive music score, we approached our task as though it were a movie - delivering real stories, of real soldiers, involved in real operations.

The direction we took allowed us to pay tribute to the contribution and sacrifices made by our servicemen and women in defending our country’s sovereignty and security interests over the years. And above all, enabled us to offer a true and meaningful insight into what the Singapore Army is really capable of.
